Day 14 - Lightning Ridge to Hebel

Today packed up the van and headed for Hebel in Queensland.     Yes we have crossed over to the other side.

George once again is not a happy camper.   It turns out he must of put his drill on the back tyre after putting some extra pegs in the ground for the annexe and some light handed creep swiped it.     Yep his own fault for not putting it away but you just got to hate that people want to take things that aren't theirs.

Lucky he has a spare but he is truly pissed off because not only the drill but the battery and bit.   Well that will not be happening again and maybe just maybe he will start to put things away after he uses them.

So the road to Hebel was suppose to be a little on the dodgy however it wasn't as bad as we thought and we arrived at the Hebel Hotel General Store about 11.00am and just as well as we got one of the last powered sites for the night at $11.00 per night.    Bargain as the pub is just across the road.   Who would have thought.

We had a good look around Hebel before retiring to the pub.   That took all of 5 mins.  The pub is the main attraction.   The pub food is supplied by the General Store across the road so you order food there and they give you a buzzer and you go back collect it and eat at the pub.   Very unique.

The pub and general store are owned by one man who also owns the "Sheepyards" and "Glengarry Hilton", 2 of the pubs in the scrub.

The vibe is unique, friendly and accommodating.    The massive road trains rushing ten feet from you as you stand around the fire outside the pub is also an experience.    Another good night of food, company and a few reds/beers.

Onto Nindigully Pub tomorrow for another pub stay.
