Day 16 - Nindigully to St George

After surviving the night we packed up and headed a massive 45 klms up the road to St George.

We have entered "cotton country" and remnants of cotton can be seen up and down the roadside.

We haven't encountered much roadkill just the odd Kangaroo and pig here and there.

St George is located on the banks of the Balonne River and we have been lucky enough to find a caravan park that is close to the river.    The cost of $33.00 per night is well worth it as the amenities are clean and tidy and the manager Ivan very nice and helpful.

Now the river has a lovely path running along the edge of the river so we decided to take the bikes for a run with Tilly's new cart on the back.     This was a rather amusing ride.    She cried for the first five minutes and then settled down.      Once we got to the end of the path we gave her a run and then put her back in the cart.    However, someone (not mentioning any names) forgot to clip her in and she managed to pry the zipper open and jumped out whilst moving.    Lucky for her the cart went over her and didn't squash her.    Don't know who was more suprised, Tilly or George who was riding behind me.  He is screaming at me in his calm and gentle manner and the Tilly is running along side me looking at me as if the say "your missing something?".    Well I won't forget to clip her in ever again!!

Of course George decided that he was so shaken up we had to stop at the pub for a beer!!

Tilly has decided to keeps us entertained with her games of hide and seek.   She is such a funny little girl.    She has got our routine down to a fine art.   If I now put my socks on she runs straight up to where her lead is hanging and sits there looking at it waiting for me to say "yes yes you are coming".
